Darren McHugh is the owner and founder of DM Safety and Health Services Ltd. Following 10 years of working as a Safety Practitioner within the Construction / Engineering Sector, Darren established the company in 2008 with a view to bringing new and innovative ideas to the Safety Sector of Construction primarily.
Following a sustained period of growth, Darren has driven diversification into the business which has now evolved into a multi-disciplinary Safety Consultancy. The ethos which Darren promotes is enshrined in good technical knowledge of process, supported by technical safety qualifications so that all members of the team can deliver effective safety solutions within the high-risk environments in which DM Safety and Health Services Ltd specialise.
Darren is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, a Registered Member of the Association for Project Safety governing CDM legislation in the UK and is professionally qualified in Occupational Health and Safety to Master’s Level.
Darren’s working mantra is that safety is at the forefront of everything we do.
Danny joined DM Safety and Health Services Ltd at its inception and has been the Operations Lead for the business ever since.
Danny works in all areas of the business and has overall responsibility for all financial and accounts, commercial and IT functions.
Danny is professionally qualified in Occupational Safety and Health and holds Graduate Status with IOSH along with being professionally qualified to NVQ Level 5 Diploma.
The Health and Safety training regime we have in the business has been devised by Danny and is upkept and maintained on a regular basis with a variety of classroom and web based training packages. Danny is also a qualified Face Fit Tester.
In more recent times, Danny has also assumed responsibility for our web-based product development and has been pivotal in helping our training department in the assembly of new on-line courses.
With over 10 years’ experience of administration and office management functions, Nicola joined the DM Safety and Health Services Ltd Team in 2013.
Her initial brief was to provide basic administrative support to the Senior Health and Safety Advisors within the company.
Since then she has developed her skill set and developed her knowledge within the Health and Safety sector and now provides full administerial support for all tiers of management within the company along with undertaking the role of Personal Assistant to Darren McHugh.
Alongside this, her role includes managing technical, safety, project management teams in conjunction with Adrian Morris and Danny Ince. Nicola is ultimately responsible to ensure workload meets delivery and reliability to ensure that all Client expectations and targets to maintain the standards DM Safety and Health Services Ltd have set.
Nicola ensures within her administrative role that the correct levels of communication are achieved so that client delivery is always facilitated. Essentially, Nicola provides the link assisting in the smooth running of day-to-day business.
Carl has operated as a Health and Safety Advisor within the construction industry, including small house build projects in the early days, to part of a Safety Team on multi-million-pound infrastructure and plant installation projects for 15 years.
Carl adopts a hands-on approach and utilises his management skills to work with onsite teams to solve safety related challenges daily and is practical and pragmatic with a keen eye for detail. Carl’s Armed Forces background remains integral to his professional practice and he approaches all client support with a disciplined approach, with a clear expectation of the the same from site contractors.
Adrian Morris joined DM Safety and Health Services Ltd in 2017 in the role of Projects Technical Lead. With over 25 years’ experience working within Mechanical Engineering and Project Management, Adrian has overseen many large and small-scale projects and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise that fuses technical and safety functions together.
Now that DM Safety and Health Services Ltd have emerged as key supplier of CDM and Principal Designer services under the CDM Regulations, Adrian assumes the primary point of contact in the business for Design Change Management, Risk Log assemblies, Future Use Benefit and Pre-Commencement Planning. Within this role Adrian ensures the team deliver solutions and agreements within the regulatory framework and through competence and experience ensures that all PD functions are discharged in accordance with RIBA.
